First author series: from materials to publication

An author series creates original editions from a catalog you control. A news rule selects previously collected and processed news. Both appear in Autopublish, but retain their own generation, review and delivery states.

1. Materials

Open Autopublish → Create author series. Choose an existing catalog. To connect a new one, select Open materials and add a catalog. The catalog has its own screen: you do not have to scroll through every item to edit a schedule.

  • API catalog: enter its name and HTTPS catalog endpoint. Enter the access token if required; it stays on the server and is not sent to models. Connect, then synchronize and check that items and images are available.
  • Manual catalog: create a catalog, add item IDs, names, descriptions and optional translations. Upload images and give each image a collection name. Save the items before returning to the series.

Use Use this catalog in a series to return with that catalog selected. API catalogs are read-only in the item browser; edit their owning source instead.

2. Content

Give the series a name and an editorial instruction. Specify how many items each edition uses, how to select them, and how many earlier editions should be excluded from selection. Random selection is frozen once an edition starts; retrying the same logical request does not draw another set.

Advanced contains fixed localized headings, roles for selected items and required sections. Each configured role list must match the item count. Required section IDs must be unique and every language must have their titles. You can leave advanced settings collapsed: saving does not remove them.

3. Style and images

Choose a common text style or keep separate styles for language variants. Choosing a replacement common style applies it to every variant. Configure original images, an album, a new AI image or no image. Generated images receive actual pictures from the selected items and optional saved style references. The supported image models accept three total references, including style references.

Set a heading emoji, bold rubric title and optional CTA URL. CTA text is localized per language. A common generated image is shared by language variants; an individual variant may override its image settings.

4. Languages and channels

Add language variants, choose a style for each, then add channel placements. Each placement points to a saved delivery channel and a particular variant. Connect an account and configure its channels in Delivery channels if the list is empty.

A variant and a channel are different: two channels may use the same language, or different styles in the same language. Existing variant identities are retained when edited.

5. Schedule and sending mode

Choose daily, weekly or monthly recurrence, local time and timezone. Weekdays use Monday = 1 through Sunday = 7. Send to all channels at the edition time aligns placements with the edition schedule. Turn it off to preserve independent channel times and timezones.

Choose explicitly:

  • Review every edition before sending: the schedule generates drafts. Open an edition, inspect every version and send ready versions yourself.
  • Send automatically: after enabling, ready versions are sent to their configured channels without another confirmation.

New series are saved paused. Saving unrelated settings in an enabled series preserves its next run. Pausing stops new generation runs; already queued deliveries are managed separately in the queue.

6. Real preview, then enable

Saving does not call a model. A trial uses the workspace balance to generate real text and images, but neither publishes nor enables the schedule. Read the cost warning and explicitly start the trial. Check the balance beforehand.

Inspect the actual image, all language variants and their rendered publication. A ready text is not evidence of delivery. Enable a paused series after opening a ready preview for its saved settings. A changed configuration needs a matching preview.

You can also explicitly publish ready versions now; that action sends to public channels. It is not required for a trial or for enabling future scheduled runs.

See what happens next

Return to Autopublish → Overview for the real next run, timezone and last result. Queue separates preparation, review, scheduled delivery and problems. History shows results per channel and links to saved published-message receipts. A long illustrated edition may have a cover plus companion text; it remains one editorial edition, with separate delivery receipts.
